From Democracy to Nuclear Terrorism

J. Peter Scoblic recently published an interesting article in the New Republic that The Australian republished (August 13-14, 2005, p.27). President Bush believes that democracy is the answer to terrorism. Scoblic questions this. He quotes counter-terrorist expert Richard Clarke, who has said: “In Indonesia, which has now achieved its third democratic transfer of power since Suharto’s rule ended in 1998, the jihadist movement is growing stronger, as it is in other Asian democracies”. Even supporters of democratization admit that the changes to a culture which full democratization may bring, will take decades, even centuries. But the world doesn’t have the luxury of that time frame, when nuclear terrorism is just around the corner. Former U.S. Secretary of Defence, William Perry has put the odds of a nuclear attack on the U.S. by 2010 at 50%. Scoblic concludes; “Democratisation is a strategy to change the behaviour of our enemies by draining them of hatred. But we cannot fully erase hatred and Bush’s “hope and compassion” are thin defences against a nuclear weapon”. The only sound defence is to eliminate the nuclear threat from nations that threaten the West, Scoblic argues.

Multiracial propaganda

“All in the Family” was the title of the cover story of The Weekend Australian Magazine 30-31 July 2005. The cover featured black hands holding a white baby. The article reported the views of geneticist Spencer Wells who believes that DNA analysis supports the African Eve hypothesis that “We’re all African cousins separated by at most 2,000 migrating generations”. The unstated sub-text of this is that therefore we should welcome African migrants now.

There is a considerable scientific literature attacking “African Eve”. It assumes that sperm don’t have mitochondria, so mtDNA shows matrilineal history. Well, surprise, surprise – the basic biochemical assumptions false – sperm do have mitochondria.

Beyond this a racist could really do wonders with African Eve. So you say that race doesn’t matter because races are recent: yet race could be a saltation, a radical biological quantum jump which some biologists (ironically the anti-racist Marxist Jew Steven Jay Gould) believe occur with species in evolution.

And doesn’t African Eve put Blacks as more ancient – and the ‘racist’ could argue – less “evolved” (given the assumptions of evolutionary theory)?

Perhaps if the implications of “African Eve” were better publicized, the politically correct establishment would drop it like a hot potato.

Ideology Unravelling

Scipio was pleased to see The Australian over the past month (July/August 2005) attack postmodern in the high school study of literature. Postmodernism is the philosophy behind multiculturalism which says that there is no truth, all is relative and the West and White people are “racist” and Third World people “cool” and “wonderful”. Hence the need for mass coloured immigration as a racial punishment. The Australian writers never dug deep into the anti-West agenda of postmodernism and for obvious reasons would not. Nevertheless it is good to see some questioning of the madness that is destroying our education system.

Kow Towing to China

Defence writer Paul Dibb (The Australian, 2 August 2005, p.12) “Don’t Get Too Close to Beijing, has argued that Australia’s ties with the U.S. should take precedence over its new found trading friend, China. Dibb notes that the Howard government has gone soft on communist China. Alexander Downer has doubted whether the ANZUS Treaty would apply in the event of a war between China and the U.S. over Taiwan. Defence Minister Robert Hill said that he did not see China’s expanding military as a problem “Try telling that to Taiwan or to the citizens of Japan and the U.S. who are targeted by Chinese nuclear warheads. U.S. Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has said: Beijing’s military spending threatens the delicate security balance in Asia.” As this site has repeatedly warned, China is a rising nation to be feared. Dibb has done a service in issuing for us another warning.
